The Marketing Services Team at Dexter Solutions is hiring a Promotional Products & Merchandising Specialist who has the business savvy, creative energy, technical skills and get-it-done attitude to assist the team in moving the company forward. As a part of the Marketing Services team, this person will have direct ownership of creating branded merchandise collections by translating an understanding of brand onto logowear, promotional items and gifts for Dexter clients. While location is flexible for this position, the Springfield, Missouri office is the preferred location.

The ideal candidate has a flair for creative ideas, the left-brained qualities of a procurement professional, and a strong desire to marry the two to create branded merchandise that firmly establishes the emotional connection between the brand and the consumer. This role requires an enterprising self-starter, eager to grow and further develop Dexter’s promotional product and merchandising capabilities.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You will be collaborating with other team members to develop creative concepts, select products and build programs to support the brands served by Dexter. You will need to use your strategic outlook to build out Dexter’s merchandising capabilities through improved processes and supplier relationships.

We’re looking for a candidate who can shine when it comes to:

    • Translating the essence of a brand into logo’d items that align with preferences and lifestyles of the target audience and fits within client budget requirements. This includes researching product options and generating new product ideas.
    • Assisting the Marketing, Sales and Account Management teams in preparing presentations and program proposals.
    • Consulting with vendors and estimators to maximize cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
    • Staying abreast of industry and product trends through research, scheduling vendor presentations and attending industry events.
    • Building relationships with suppliers and vendors.
    • Thinking strategically in order to develop product collections and programs that meet client requirements related to price, design and distribution.

Required qualifications for this position include:

    • At least 2 years experience working with Ad specialties and promotional products.
    • Being a Subject Matter Expert, comfortable educating both clients and staff in all things related to Promotional Products and Ad Specialties.
    • Able to interface and effectively communicate with our production staff, sales staff, and customers.
    • Detail-oriented and computer-literate.
